My dear readers, I have changed my blog

To those of you who are following this blog of mine, I have changed to blog here instead: Blue Ringo in Bloom in an effort to streamline my posts. I will not be posting here anymore, so if you still like what you are reading in my new blog, follow me there but if not, sad to see you go but a big THANK YOU for having followed my blog 🙂

I have started some blogs in the past but I did not managed to get as many as 15 followers here. Changing A is a real lucky name but I chose to change (oh why…)

Thank you again and happy blogging!

Long weekend : Day 5 (Three days ago)

So, I did a series of posts about my long weekend. This is on the last day. I can’t leave it without a conclusion.

These were what I did on the final day:-

Some insight-

On days that I do not have to go to work, I sleep a little longer. Hence, my day that day started after noon. This morning, I woke up around 11.30am 😛 and I get reminded by my bosses’ remarks going ‘Young people these days…(are privileged)’

I am a Virgo ( = perfectionist – me to the point of it becoming a little OCD [My birthday is coming! I feel old] that instead of ignoring some real tiny spots of stain on my white work blouses (that came after I washed them. Darn), I decided to re-wash them again).

I do not own a smartphone (yet). When my youngest brother got his, I asked to let me fiddle with his new phone. Is it true that iphone 5 is coming out in September?

Would like to learn cooking. For the time being, am starting small and simple – with making smoothies (hehe). Yeah I know. That is not cooking.

You ought to know that I rarely post status on Facebook.

My friday nights are not normally on drinking or hitting the many fancy clubs in KL. Rather, it is dining and hitting the glitzy shopping malls in the city centre. I already have to commute to the city 5 days a week, taking at least one and a half hours to work one-way. Do not feel like venturing into KL again on weekends.

I like to make time sheets like this whether at work or at home (sometimes) to track what I have been doing for the day and the time spent. There are so few hours in a day to do much. Or am I slow or being wasteful? Maybe it is because I woke up late that half the day is gone.

Long weekend: Day 3

I spent the afternoon visiting my niece who is five and a half months old. She was born in March, the 3rd while I was in Auckland. The next day, I got her a pair of socks made from Merino wool and a local handmade pink shirt (which is now too small for her). I has passed the gift to her grandmother when I returned to Malaysia but this is only my first time seeing the baby and holding her. Bad auntie.

Long weekend: Day 2

It’s Sunday. And knowing that you are not going to work tomorrow or the next day and the next day, you get lazy. Thinking that there are three more days for me to do my stuff.

Do not put off what you can do today. There might not be tomorrow.

(Then, I might as well do nothing if there is no tomorrow)

Sarcasm.

On days like this, I need a to do list to remind me of the chores that I have got to get to doing.

To do list for the day, what’s remaining of it.

Yea, boring (except the swimming and movie part). Groom myself? You know, plucking eyebrows, popping zits – yea, gross.

Get away from the laptop.

Long weekend: Day 1

Tomorrow, Muslims will be celebrating Hari Raya after a month of fasting. Selamat Hari Raya! Malaysians will be having two days of national holiday (and a break from work :D) on Monday (the 2nd day of Raya) and Tuesday (a replacement as the 1st day falls on a Sunday) and as for me, I take another day off on Wednesday :D. Should have planned for a road or day (or few days) trip to somewhere within Malaysia but holidays = jam. A trip to foreign land at such time = pricey air tickets. Anyway, I didn’t plan anything – gosh, what was I thinking – 5 days – should have planned something…

Still thinking of what to do tomorrow….

Of course, to sleep as much as I can. Burned out from working late nights and the stress. Err, I have some chores at home to get to…

Today, I got up around Eleven and had a hearty brunch with the family at a restaurant in Klang called Happy Having Here.

Thereafter, we went shopping until my dad complained to go home. Hmmph, I didn’t even shopped much.

Got a couple of work shirts and this pretty pink flats:-

I am getting sleepy. Will head off for a shower and then watch a Japanese drama for some laughs and whip up a supper maybe (I think I am getting hungry).

End of day 1 of a long weekend.

My first attempt at making smoothies

I got a blender that can crush ice. Bought it on an impulse of wanting to make smoothies. Mom used it to make fruit juices several times. My brother helped to operate the blender. I never really did touch it though I was the one who wanted it. Until now. Might have been more than six months it stood on the kitchen shelf waiting for me.

So, I got a book yesterday. Smoothie recipes.

Decided to make ‘Cherrific Apple’.

I spent time pitting the cherries.  Didn’t know the proper way of doing it. Just sliced the cherries and used my clean fingers to pop out the pit.

Now, I found a guide on how to pit cherries. Ah, so that’s the way to do it. Then again, I did not need them to still be whole as they get blended anyway.

Look at the colour.

The verdict:-

My father seems to like it. He likes anything homemade. He likes yogurt.

My mother thought it was too sour for her taste.

My youngest brother gave me 7 out of 10 points.

The other brother complained to my mom wondering why it was made. Wasn’t nice he said. He didn’t know I was the one who made it. I guess he might know now.

As for me, it was not cold enough and lack apple flavour. Ice and apple juice were not of the right amount needed.

Heck, it wasn’t a smoothie. Not thick enough.

Checked one page of the book. The adventure will continue.
